Hello Aurora!
First off, I want to thank all of you for being part of Aurora and making it what it is. Although my experience with other guilds is not particularly deep, I know for a fact that Aurora is definitely one of the better playing environments out there thanks to the community – you! I especially want to thank our longer-standing veterans and officers for keeping Aurora in one piece as it went through its ups and downs. I couldn't ask for a better guild.
I've been here for almost exactly 1.5 years today, having joined in late October of 2011. When I first started playing, it was with just a few other friends – and all but one of them quit playing after about a month. Were it not for Aurora, I would have quit too – but I found it just in time. I can still remember how excited I was to have been invited. I can still remember not ever expecting to be a GM, too.
It's time, however, for me to move on. I've made several major mistakes both in-game and in real life, and one half of the necessary solution is for me to step out. Don't get me wrong – I love playing and talking with you guys, and none of you are at fault; in fact, all of my issues are basically my fault. Sometimes, though, desparate times call for drastic measures. I may or may not return to Aurora; it is more likely that I will not.
As I said, my problems are the fault of no one but myself. The damage is inches away from being irrepairable and I must cut back on(or cut off completely) my playtime while I fix these issues. The school year drawing near to its end, I'm sure most of you can understand. While I may not return to Aurora, I do plan to return to the game eventually(assuming I leave – I'll probably be on a couple hours each week). This being my senior high school year, however, preparation for college may stop me.
I thank you all for giving me the most I could've gotten for what little this game costed me. I've more than an incredible 2800 hours in Spiral Knights, and my next most-played game – Team Fortress 2 – doesn't even make 600. If this isn't solid evidence of how much Aurora means to me, I don't know what is!
Again, thank you all, and farewell.
~Alpha
P.S. I will still be here on the forums if I can be. You can also contact me via Steam or Tumblr(links in signature).

It was awesome working with you Alp, I don't dare to question your loyalty.
The issues sound really complicated o.o;'
I'm sure stepping out would clear out some noise to think things through.
On a final note: Take it easy on yourself bro, we all make stupid mistakes
Don't forget to forgive yourself as well. It's probably one of the things I find myself not doing enough of.

Thanks for your dedication Alp, you will be missed but it is understandable that certain priorities must be followed. It is commendable that you see where you may have faults or make mistakes -- all of us do, but some never learn how to address it constructively. My unsolicited advice to you would be not to linger in the past but to learn from the mistakes in order move forward. The honorable path is usually the roughest.

Firstly: *Salutes*
Second, it has been great having you with all of us in the guild. Your dedication and attitude have brought all of us closer together and created some wonderful memories as well (*cough*ValbeingattackedbyyourdriversinLDlol*cough*). It's a shame that you have to go, but from what you said, I'm sure it'll help. Keep a positive attitude on the issues, and they become much easier to solve. There's a solution to everything out there if you know where to look.
Again, it's been nice to hear ya' (even if your music was a little loud sometimes haha). Enjoy yourself, and smile!

- Spoiler:
Bye Alp. :c
It's sad to see you go, but at the same time, I've been in the same situation before and it's completely understandable. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and get your priorities straight!
Best of luck in the future - you can do it!
Long goodbyes are no fun. Well, goodbyes aren't fun in general, but long ones especially.

School's ending, things are changing. This happened last year too.Funny_Reaver wrote:Taimaos wrote:Bloody christ, what's with all the leaving?

And thanks everyone for the good wishes - it means quite a lot to me to know that my role in Aurora was an appreciated one!

From the standpoint of you leaving the game (somewhat), I'll miss you very much. You're definitely one of the friendliest knights I know of, and it's always a treat to talk to you. I hope to see you back on the field at some point, and I wish you good luck and strength in these issues.
Until we meet again,
~Mushy
And Tai, it's what Alphappy said. Things are changing. Real life puts pressure on you at this time of the year and choices you've made come back at this point.

To those of you who I've been playing and talking with(thank you all again, by the way~): My final things in school start tomorrow and will last a couple of weeks, during which time I won't be able to get on as often.
Until then, over and out(ish)!
