A big Question!

A big Question!
right, I am super lucky and have crafted a normal max UV on a magic hood. A little while back i also got a shadow max UV on magic cloak (i must be super lucky man lucky dude lucky luck luck). The later is now a chaos cloak and is awesome. I have 2 options, 1 is to sell the hood for 200kcr-300kcr and 2 is to keep it for my own and make a chaos hood. There wouldnt be much point in this as my weps i use already have CTR max on them(ctr med uv on blitz and sword ctr trinket for swords), but then i also want the extra damage med. I may as well spend my money upgrading a good wolver cap, so then i wont have all that negative status resist(and have some positive resist for freeze or poison or both), but then that will not give the damage to guns and bombs. I also would need to get a good UV on a wolver which would be costly, or i would need some more luck. And i also want some moneys for accesories for my current costume.
Any ideas would be appreciated
(i am currently using vog cap with shock med for helmet, if i were to try fsc with fulll chaos set, i would be on fire for a couple of hours...)

Re: A big Question!
As a owner of both sides of the coin that your asking about (chaos vs. wolver here), I can recommend to make the chaos hood with that normal max, IF you're good at avoiding fire in FSC. Once you can avoid fire and basically all damage in FSC effectively, it is by far the superior choice over wolver armors. If you don't feel good about that, sell the hood (no idea about how much) and I recommend searching for perhaps a fire low/med wolver cap with the money you get, and follow that up with making it into a Snarby cap.
Least that's how I see it .

Re: A big Question!
ok, ill make the chaos then
EDIT: another option is that I could make a divine veil with it, probably not as good though, although it does look cooler

for comparison
oh yea, and thanks for the responce

Re: A big Question!
Common wisdom is to never, ever waste a damage-reduction UV on something that doesn't already have some in that stat to begin with.

Re: A big Question!
(all referring to the total UV for the whole set) I feel a difference on my Chaos total pierce vh. I havent statistically proven it but i think it seems to fair better on pierce attacks than my Snarby since its UVs arent directed towards that, but i have heard about this armor UV thing. I'm tempted to check it out statistically

Holding up to fire for a couple of hours is nothing to sneeze at - what hacks are you using?andersenio wrote:(i am currently using vog cap with shock med for helmet, if i were to try fsc with fulll chaos set, i would be on fire for a couple of hours...)

I want to verify this as well, because I think that there is a small(but generally negligible) difference. If you've got some spare time for LD and are willing to not play a match or two seriously, I can help.MushyMushy wrote:I feel a difference on my Chaos total pierce vh. Re: A big Question!
So me and Red just ran the tests: Final Flourish against a full Shadowsun(no pierce) and again against Seerus with piercing defense medium. Because of a brainfart on my part, the latter set did not have dual pentas, so the percentages are misleading. However, I did see how much health I had with each set so I could check the percentages from there:
Against no piercing defense: 16% damage against 31 pips = 4.96 pips.
Against medium defense: 19% damage against 25 pips = 4.75 pips.
So the answer to the question of unrelated defense UVs is that they are crap, but not literally zero. The reduction by a single medium is 4%, meaning that the highest possible rank, doublemax, would only be 16% assuming it increases linearly.
Also assuming linear increase, this means that it is indeed better to have matching UVs on your armor - a +4% reduction to an initial 0%(no Skolver) is just 4%, while a +4% reduction to, say, an initial 50% reduction is 8% off the second value.

Re: A big Question!
I'm assuming it runs the same in PvE?
I can check that pretty easily myself and post it here later.

Re: A big Question!
It turns out that the 4% difference I found here is probably just rounding error, and the defense works on a much dumber system.alphappy wrote:
