Event Suggestions! - Page 2 Empty Whoa. So many good ideas...

Post  Funny_Reaver Thu Nov 22, 2012 5:23 pm

These are some pretty creative ideas. I'm not sure if my suggestion will hold up.

But anyway, My idea for an event is to have an escort run in any of the boss dungeons (Snarby, Royal Jelly, Twins, Vana, etc.). One or two members would be in proto armor with no weapons and no shield. and the knights have to protect them for the entire run. ALSO, the proto knights would be causing trouble all the way through, whether it be snagging vitapods, pills, vials, alarming enemies, going into danger, and giving a hard time for the defending knights. I'm not sure how else to elaborate on this idea a bit more, or if anyone else has suggested this idea, but it is just a thought that I wanted to get out.

All I got is Guild Uniform Swarming Event in other guild halls. It'd be our little way of engaging a guild war on our enemies (or making enemies).

Had another, but I realized it'd require more CE than is comfortable for anyone to spend (plus someone might run off with it).

Ha! Sabotage proto knights sounds like fun. Made me think of a similar idea:

Teams of 2. One person can use whatever weapons they want, but must run in proto gear with no shield. Second person can bring whatever armor/shield they want, but no weapons (or maybe just a proto gun). The team would have to work together - the defender shielding the attacker... standing in front of of the attacker and shielding, shield bumping things away, getting the argo of enemies to make it easier on the attacker, ect. Speedrun through the twins might be fun since that place has tons of rockets and things that you need to defend against.

Post  andersenio Thu Dec 06, 2012 4:11 pm

I know this isn't really an event but maybe we could hold a guild lottery? everyone could put 1000 cr in each and then From everyone who puts money in one gets picked to get two thirds of the total and then second place gets one third?
Then maybe the richer players could put more in since they have more, and that would be a fun way to share resources as a guild?
I dunno what you think but it sounds fun Very Happy

Nice idea andersenio
How about only using two thirds as price money and put the other third in the treasury?

Event Suggestions! - Page 2 Empty Spiral Chess

Post  Goodbert Thu Dec 06, 2012 10:10 pm

Well, I got an idea, how bout we host a game of chess in the Guild Hall? We are the human pieces, and two people are the competitors. For a game of chess we need 34 people (16 on each side+ 2 commanders) but it sounds fun to me. We could also try checkers with 26 people if we don't have enough. We could use hats for identifying the pieces (Royal Jelly king helm for king, Ice Queen helm for queen, Bombhead for rooks (BN bombs travel the same way), etc.). I think it sounds fun, and I will make a list about more of it if I get enough support on it.

Lottery idea sounds pretty neat - and would be a great fund raiser if a portion when to the guild hall.

Chess sounds interesting. Not sure if we could get 26 people on at once though. What about ticktacktoe? that would only take 9.

Sorry if i sound like a smart-alec, but you would need 11 people in the game of tic-tac-toe (9 people in the 3x3 grid, and 2 people to face eachother. And I guess you could always represent chess pieces with furniture if you really needed to.

Ha, true! Not sure if it was 26 though. Course we have more people in the guild now, so who knows!

ya, 11 for tick tack toe. Forgot about the two "leaders". or could have people divide up into teams with "whoever is up next" picks where they stand, type of deal.

Chess board out of people would make a great screen shot - specially if we got everyone dressed up for it. Have to remember to take a few whenever the game gets setup

Chess would require 36 people. How about checkers? (16 people needed, and two actual players)

We can do lottery stuff once in a while - more often and announce them randomly.

The lottery thing sounds good, perhaps 1k a raffle and perhaps 5k crs for a jackpot?

you would really know Det... (not)
Reasons:
  • we called them 'drawings'
  • there were some days that i forgot / didnt have supplies
  • the guild was at its height when you were in New Hampshire
  • you didnt exactly get on very often :3 (a.k.a. you weren't on for them)

yea Bert, sounds great! Very Happy

We wouldn't actually need two players. The teams could argue it out what to do on their turn. This way it is more of a group event instead of just two people making all the choices. The difficult part would be allowing the teams to argue it out without the other team hearing them. One option would be to let the team whose turn it was to get on trade chat and the other team get off of trade chat. The problem with this would be the fact that a member of the opposing team could easily listen in on the opposing team's arguments.

you could spend 10 minutes doing one move.... nobody would like that, i dont think

i think there should be randomly chosen players XD

But if two players are playing they could still take ten minutes for one move. It's not going to make a difference how many people we have "playing" because the time they spend thinking is roughly going to be the same as the team. The team could just take a vote. Then an appointed spokesman could tell what their move was. Checkers isn't much fun to watch, although I bet one of you is going to post saying you love watching checkers, and this way we have more playing less watching.

most people dont take more than 10 minutes deciding their move unless they have one of these to decide what to do with:

You seem to think that just because we have teams it will take ten minutes to move, and yes that's the point checkers and other strategical games actually take time to think.
If your making your move in five seconds every turn, your going to lose, unless of course your opponent has no clue what he/she is doing.
