What Sword To Use In My Loadout?
Hey guys, I find that I am an aggressive swordsman type of player and I think I want to pick up a fast sword, Which would be a good sword to pick?, especially concerning 5 star swords. I am currently using a Calibur, and will have the 5 star version of that very soon, and it is a decent sword but I would really like to pick up a fast sword with maybe some elemental or shadow damage.

For shadow, the only fast sword option is Acheron. For elemental, the options are Glacius, Combuster and Voltedge, depending on whether you want freeze, fire or shock(the latter requires PvP tokens). All four are evolutions of the Brandish, so they all function the same way. Not a whole lot of options.Syphael wrote:Hey guys, I find that I am an aggressive swordsman type of player and I think I want to pick up a fast sword, Which would be a good sword to pick?, especially concerning 5 star swords. Acheron deals no status effect unlike the elemental brandishes. As for the latter three, they each have their own advantages. Also note that only the charge can inflict status; the normal attack cannot. All three statuses from these swords last about 6 seconds.
- Combuster charges will unconditionally deal higher damage because 1)fire does more damage than shock or freeze and 2)fire does not stop targets, so they will get hit by all the explosions of a charge. However, fire provides no movement impairment and will ignite Oilers(black slimes that leave oil) on the charge. Targets on fire from Combuster cannot be frozen by Shivermist, so be careful in using it when freezing targets is more desirable.
- Glacius charges allow you to keep targets in place a bit more, but deal far less damage because targets are often frozen early and will not get hit by all the explosions(except in LD, where skovlers are actually somewhat resistant). When using it, tends towards hitting targets that are not already frozen. If you let a frozen target thaw instead of hitting it, it will take a fair amount of damage while you hit or freeze other things.
- Voltedge charges deal decent damage, especially in larger groups. It is excellent for FSC because 1)zombies tend to come in large groups, facilitating shock damage, 2)shock locks not only movement and turning, but also attacks(though not constantly), and 3)shock often completely prevents zombies from jumping. Once again, use it in moderation if a Shivermist is present, because disrupts freeze and causes the freeze to deal no damage. Additionally, the charge attack will overcharge Quicksilvers(silver slimes that zip all over the place), even if you don't hit them directly(shock spreads its damage).

Yh good points alp, nice and concise I prefer combustor because of the full knockback you can round them up and hit more with each shot, but the downside is that the fsc zombies dont catch fire

In this case you don't seem to have a choice. The Cautery Sword is the only good choice.

like alp said, brandish line all the way. either of the cutter's are decent, too, but i only think they're useful for teir 2

If I were you I'd get a t2 loadout instead. It's easier to get games.
Plus, I get lonely being the only one in the guild who plays t2 lockdown..... most of the time.

Teir 1, teir 2... whatever. I'm too busy grinding for PvP right now :C
