Name: Sabateur (Estimated Time = 1 hour)
- Spoiler:
- Gear: Any. No crimson hammer is allowed. No buying pills allowed.
Location: Clockworks (Arcade): Any Tier 3 gate.
Objective: Be the last survivor amongst your teammates.
Description: Shieldbump, steal pills and play smart! Each party of 4 will venture on an agreed Tier 3 gate. (If no decision is made, a random gate shall be chosen for you.) Shieldbump attacking monsters into your teammates and do not revive your teammates if they die. Also, no stalling allowed - you must advance with the group otherwise the player performing the stall will be out of the competition. Once you are dead, you are out of the game (but stay in there to watch and make the monsters more difficult). Absolutely no energy reviving is allowed. If two or more party members are alive, they will proceed to the next level. Dead teammates can choose to go up or down: if they choose to go down, they must die as soon as possible, without interfering with those still in competition. In the (perhaps rare) event that two or more teammates reach the core without dying, they are both winners of that round. Winners of the round play against other winners until one winner emerges. If the final round does not have four participants, one or two repechage rounds will be held where 2nd place losers before the final round will get a second chance to claim a spot in the final round.
Logistics: Randomize teams of 4 (or 3 if there are not enough people).
Prizes: Shadow Key; 400CE, 200CE
Name: Puppy Room Runaround (Estimated Time = 1 hour)
- Spoiler:
- Gear: Wearing the guild costume armor and helm with proto sword and proto shield (no UV's either). No guns and no trinkets allowed.
Location: FSC Depth 25 Puppy room.
Setup: No zombies, Puppy is reset.
Objective: Run around the puppy room.
Description: The person who runs around the most quarters around the puppy, wins the event. Each person gets two tries and the best of the two are counted. First place gets to pick their prize.
Logistics: Organizers go (together) through the FSC mission with their normal gear, then all go solo just before going down elevator. Each organizer can invite 3 players. They must be able to kill the puppy with their own gear, before the each player's attempt. Organizers report how many quarters each participant went through.
Prize: 1st/2nd Penta-Heart Pendant/Heat Amplifier (30 days); 200CE
Name: Bosses Speed Run (Estimated Time = 2.5 hours; Tier 1-2 version = 1.5 hours)
- Spoiler:
- Gear: Any.
Location: Mission Lobby.
Objective: In pairs, speed run to defeat all four bosses. (Suggestion: get your loadouts ready!)
Description: Pairs who defeat all four bosses first, second and third, will receive the first, second and third prize.
Logistics: Split participants evenly into two tiers: an upper tier (those who do vana runs regularly) and a lower tier; each pair gets one of each. Check each person in the mission lobby for no trinkets. Countdown for teams to start. Make sure teams are beginning new missions from mission lobby. Record which pair killed which boss.
Prizes: Tier 1-2: 300CE (x2); 200CE (x2); 100CE (x2); Tier 1-3: 3 Variant Ticket (x2); 2 Variant Ticket (x2); 1 Variant Ticket (x2).
Name: Tri-Protolympics (Estimated Time = 1.5 hour)
- Spoiler:
- Scoring: The maximum score the winner can obtain from each event is the number of players involved. In the event of ties, players involved get the higher score. For example, if there are 24 people playing an event, and there are 8 groups of 3 and only one winner from each group, then everyone eliminated from the first round (16 people) collect 16 points. Next round, there are 2 groups of 3 and one group of 2. The 5 losers of the round each receive 21 points; etc. The top 3 point scorers win the prize. In the event there are ties in the top 3, the Gun phase is repeated to determine the winner.
Part 1: Bomb_______________________________________________________
Gear: Proto Bomb (no UV's). No trinkets allowed. No gear providing CTR or movement speed increase allowed.
Location: Guild Training Hall, Tier 1 Shield-bump Area
Objective: Lay as many bombs in a 1-minute period.
Description: The person who lays down the most bombs wins the event. 3 players will face off in a double elimination fashion. In the event that two players (out of 3) tie, both proceed to the next round. Winner advances and plays other winners until one winner emerges. In the event of a tie in the final event, they will face off each other until one is clearly in the lead. That player will be pronounced the winner.
Logistics: One organizer uses a timer for one minute. Two organizers (and audience) judge who had the most bombs placed.
Part 2: Sword_________________________________________________________
Gear: Proto Sword (no UV's). No trinkets allowed. No gear providing ASI or movement speed increase allowed.
Objective: Progress the furthest in a 1-minute period. Starting at the bottom right area, players must proceed clockwise and hit each punch bag, running around the outside of them, and outside the bottom railing.
Description: The person who progresses the furthest wins the event. 3 players will face off in a double elimination fashion. Winner advances and plays other winners until one winner emerges. Penalties for not hitting a punchbag moves you back one place. If two or more players miss the same number of punchbags, they offset each other.
Logistics: One organizer uses a timer for one minute. Two organizers (and audience) judge who had progressed the furthest, and point out any missed punchbags.
Part 3: Gun________________________________________________________
Gear: Proto Gun (no UV's). No trinkets allowed. Auto aim may be turned on.
Location: Guild Training Hall, Tier 1 Shooting gallery
Objective: Successfully shoot all circle targets. Red crossed targets count against you.
Description: Each person gets a go at the shooting gallery. Those who do not miss any circle targets gets to proceed to the next round. Players continue to play until one winner emerges. In the event that there is a target that is shot before a circle or red cross is revealed, it will not get counted against the player. If the event is getting long, those remaining will all be deemed as winners.
Logistics: Organizer (and audience) judge if any circle targets were missed or red cross targets hit.
Prize: Penta-Heart Pendant; Silver Key with Mirrored Lockbox; Silver Key with Iron Lockbox.
Name: Proto Gear FTW (Estimated Time = 1 hour)
- Spoiler:
- Gear: Proto Gear. Trinkets allowed.
Location: Clockworks (Arcade).
Objective: Work your way as far as possible in the clockworks without wiping out.
Description: No energy reviving allowed. Teams of two (or three) venture the clockworks at whatever speed they choose. In the event of ties within the top 3 teams, each pair of winners speedruns in proto gear, Snarbolax's Lair and attempt to defeat snarbolax (energy reviving limited to two revives each please). First team to complete this wins. If one or more teams give up or exceeds the revive limit, the team is placed last in the tie-breaker, in order of when it happens.
Logistics: Organize random teams of two. If there are leftover players, they will make a group of three.
Prizes: Shadow Key (x2); 200CE (x2); 100CE (x2)
Remaining Prizes:
Elite Bomb Focus Module (Bomb CTR)
Elite Handgun Focus Module (Gun CTR)
Elite Quick Draw Module (Gun ASI)
Elite Quick Strike Module (Sword ASI)
Elite Slash Module (Sword Damage+)
Elite Sword Focus Module (Sword CTR)
Elite Trueshot Module (Gun Damage+) (x2)
The remaining prizes will be given out in other fashions. This can include triva events, quizzes, challenges posted on the forums, raffle of participants in all events, etc.. https://aurorask.forumotion.com/t247-christmas-carol-creation-contest-awesome-awards-abound for a Penta-Heart Pendant.
Here is the backstory, or what influenced last year's Christmas event:
- Spoiler:
- Last year, we did a secret santa with 4* and 5* recipes. In addition, Larinok, a former GM of Aurora, did a random giveaway for those who are online at the time. They included accessories, trinket slots, stranger hats, etc. Back then, he said he hopes to do this again this year. Although Larinok does not appear to play Spiral Knights anymore, we have continued the tradition for him, with a holiday bonanza for the guild, which is this event.

Re: Fri 12/21-Sun 12/23 Christmahanakwanza Holiday events!
Well, after getting some approval, there will now also be a Christmas Lottery!
Because all the main events are on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the lottery will as well!
Note that the lotteries will continue as long as people keep putting money in or until a major event starts
Lottery Times:
Friday 7:30pm CST Classic Drawing
Saturday 1pm CST Number Guessing
Saturday 7:30pm CST Classic Drawing
Sunday 7:30pm CST Number Guessing
Classic Drawing
Number Guessing
All lottery activities will be in the Guildhall and will start promptly. In the event that i dont show up, id appreciate at least one officer or GM saying that they can show up in case i don't. the ones that i might miss are the 7pm ones, i dont plan on it, but it could happen.
Merry Christmas and may luck be with you the whole way!

Classic Drawing
- Spoiler:
- This is similar to a regular drawing prize in which people will buy Lottery tickets and then the paid amount is added to the Jackpot's sum. There is a maximum of three entries per lottery round.
Ticket Prices are as follows:
1 entry - 500 crowns
2 entries - 1500 crowns
3 entries - 2500 crowns
Following the ticket sum collection, all entries will be put on slips in a cup and shaken up and a slip will be drawn. All ticket money goes to the winner of the drawing. This will be repeated as many times as people put in money or until a major event. Because i am doing the lottery, i will not be part of it and will make no profit.
Number Guessing
- Spoiler:
- Unlike the drawing, each person can only enter once, thus making the drawings likely worth more. Choosing a number costs 500 crowns and the number must be spoken out-loud in normal chat so everyone can see it. Numbers may not be chosen twice in one round, so numbers are first-come-first-serve. Once everyone playing has guessed, i will reveal my number between 0-100 and the closest person wins. If 2 people are equidistant from my number, there will be a tiebreaker round with no charge and will be between 0-10.

Saboteur went down without a hitch, with the finalists (Gibberishly, FallingSnow, and RedHawkOne) each coming out towards the end of their respective preliminaries.
After a tense final at Legion of Almire, Snow and I both proved pretty difficult to kill, sharing the victory.
Congrats to our finalists, and thanks to everyone that played!

Re: Fri 12/21-Sun 12/23 Christmahanakwanza Holiday events!
wish could've come.... i should be able to attend the other one... grats to the winners and everyone else
and so this is clear, this is how the number drawings shall work now:
hope to see you all there at 1pm CST and then 2pm CST at the main event right afterwords!
---------------------------
just wondering, nobody had a problem with me touching the MOTD, right?
just hoped to change it so people would know about the thing sooner
and so this is clear, this is how the number drawings shall work now:
- the same site as the classic drawings will be used
- i will just put in 100 sides and roll after everyone has playing has guessed (that guarantees no cheating and junk like that)
- the tiebreaker will be 10 sided dice
- similar to last night, money will go to the treasury, but 10% didn't seem to be very much... i'll be trying 15% this time
hope to see you all there at 1pm CST and then 2pm CST at the main event right afterwords!

Re: Fri 12/21-Sun 12/23 Christmahanakwanza Holiday events!
The Lottery (side) Events went of virtually without a hitch. I'd like to give thanks to all those who played and also for the overall good sportsmanship displayed during it.
Over 50k has been dealt to numerous victors over the past few days and I think most of the players had plenty of fun. They have fit in nicely as a break from the amazing action-packed events Lov has bestowed upon us.
Big thanks to Lov for taking the time to set it all up and for letting me do my little thing as well.
I definitely look forward to this next year!

Re: Fri 12/21-Sun 12/23 Christmahanakwanza Holiday events!
The only events that I really enjoyed were the Proto Gear FTW (I kinda felt the appeal of proto) and the Sabateur (I'm not good at helping in the clockworks, I am only good at hurting people in the clockworks). And the number lottery I liked because I could think about it and win most of the time. Not the traditional one where I lost more than I put in, and one lucky sap won four rounds (that put me in a bad mood).

Re: Fri 12/21-Sun 12/23 Christmahanakwanza Holiday events!
Here is a summary and the results of Sunday's event.
In the afternoon's Sabateur event, 11 adventurers went from Depth 24 onwards with the objective to kill off its team members.
