Re: Other Games :3
Yea, we did too, but there were still tons of issues that Google helped none with.Alcors wrote:I just play with hamachi xD
Imma go ahead and warn you: the class balance in T2 is whack. Embermage and engineer can rip through everything, but berserker kinda needs a special build to function well(but he's fun) and outlander's even worse(and he's not fun). Hit me up if you wanna multiplayer(should you buy it), though I haven't tried the multiplayer yet.Doofta wrote:I started playing Torchlight a few days ago, it's great fun. I think I'll be getting TL2 some time later.
I'll go ahead and reveal what I've been wasting time with:
- Dungeons of Dredmor: fantastic dungeon crawler with extreme replayability due to incredible variety of skills and abilities. It's even moddable and has DLC if you get that into it.
- The Binding of Isaac: if you can overlook the many bugs and moderate lag, a great topdown shooter with fairly high randomness for its replay value, but some skill is also involved in dodging.
- Legend of Grimrock: a "dungeon crawler" to an extent, but it relies on puzzles more than combat, is not turnbased, and is not procedurally generated. Fifteen bucks is a bit pricey, but it's not a bad game.
- Hotline Miami: a neat, cheap little topdown, fast-paced action/strategy game where you get to kill stuff. Also fire.
- Spelunky: a free platforming/action crawler-type game with procedural generation and a fairly harsh difficulty curve.

i prefer games that take 4ever to beat
or maybe not even able to beat all (aka minecraft)
Then do I have a game for you. You'll have to like tabletop style RPGs or turn based games to truely enjoy it but it's an estimated 100 hours of game play with just the main story and then 400+ if you do EVERYTHING. It's not an MMO but you can play multiplayer. it also has expansions and a sequal with expansions. This is of course the Baldur's gate series that recently got a remake http://www.beamdog.com/products/baldurs-gate-enhanced-edition
My favorite section of this is Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn which you could play without knowing anything about the first game. You won't miss anything as your character has "lost" his/her memory and it's centered in an entirely new area.

Yes, I (at this point) play either games that you can't beat, or ones that do take close to 90 hours to beat the main story and hundreds of hours for the extra stuff. And in general, games that fit the bill are RPGs.... those are like... my favorite type now
Re: Other Games :3
You will like Intrusion 2 if you hav played all Metal Slug series.

Re: Other Games :3
I've been quite obsessed with Warframe over the last two weeks. Its gunplay is very similar to Mass Effect, but you are much more agile and you have melee weapons such as swords, axes or special gloves. Apart from the usual weapons such as pistols and assault rifles, you get things such as a gun that shoots bolts which pin enemies to walls. (yeeeee) The major problem with this game is that it's quite repetitive.
The F2P system is one of the best I've seen: Similar to Spiral Knights, you can get almost anything without paying by finding/buying blueprints. Or buy it in the marketplace with Platinum (real money currency). You start out with 50, which is enough to buy a few Warframe or weapon slots.
Warframe is in Open Beta right now, so you can download it from Steam or from the official page.

Terraria
Steam has Terraria on sale until Thursday, so if anyone happens to be curious, now is a good time to get it!

this is addicting as ducks yes
I mean really, even if it is just grinding in the end this is a pretty good game(albeit with a mildly steep learning curve), especially for a "beta."
Re: Other Games :3
Speaking of steep learning curves, dota 2 is the best game.
It's part of the reason I haven't been doing much SK lately.
Gotta' get those competitive team strategy games!
(Next to free on Steam, 2 cents in the store if you can't find an invite from anyone [though, Windows only {sorry, Val }])

Dota 2. Oh yeah, the real thing. Not for casual babbies like LoL. As Fally said, I used to play it with Dexxa a lot (played it with Alp once) but we both quit for some time because we got sick of russian tryhards thinking they could win with their MEGA PR0 DENDI competitive strats. He's playing again now but I'm not quite back to it. But if you want to play a game with me (or us), hit me up on Steam.
Re: Other Games :3
YAY! I have finally got round to portforwarding my new router, so my terraria server is up and running! Message me if you wanna play

I'm thinking about purchasing Castle Crashers, perhaps 4 of us could get together over steam and play through the game?
