2/1: Guild (Elongated) Event: Black Kat Hunting!
I was just pulling out my hair thinking about what event to have this Saturday and alas, I was saved by our lovely Black Kats!
For those of you who are not yet acquainted with this event (Shame on you! D:<), here is the link of the announcement:
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/73222
Since everyone will be too busy hunting down those damn black kats, let's make this Saturday an all-day kat hunting event!
While it may seem to take forever trying to find a black kat by yourself, the process is actually much much faster if everyone ran together. That's the great thing about being in a guild and having wonderful guildies <3
Here are some guidelines if you decide to run and work with everyone else:
1.) It is best to run by yourself since more people in separate runs = more chances of encountering a black kat
2.) Popular choices include the mission Alone in the Dark (1st depth) and Weight of Darkness (1st depth). These two are all candlestick depths, which tend to have the highest kat spawn rates.
3.) Make sure your party options is set to lock party but "Allow guild" so that only guildies would be allowed to jump in
4.) Once you have found a black kat, simply say something like "kat here" or "join me"
5.) This will only work if everyone is running and contributing. That being said, if you are simply just chilling around in haven and waiting for a guild mate to say "kat here" and then join, then shame on you. And you shouldn't be joining in in these runs.
6.) And if there are many people are and you just joined a black kat party, try to let other people have a chance to join
7.) Lastly, if you find a book, which can give a Black Kat Hat, remember that everyone in the party can get the hat when you use the book. So make sure you have a full party when you turn in the book or else it'll just be a waste =\
With this in mind, HAPPY Hunting and I'll see you on Saturday!
P.S. Thank you all for your response to the Doodle for event times. It looks like right now, 6 - 8 PM CST is the most popular choice. We will mostly likely begin using that event time next week. So keep a lookout!

Just a note, only the person who turns the book in gets the hat.

cool. but i'm guessing that tier 2 people like me are just going to have to roam the clockworks to find black kats? or are there recommended missions for tier 2 as well?

Is it possible to split parties when black Kat is found to make more parties battle the same one?

When you go solo, the party is restricted for the rest of that floor. I can't guarantee that the kat'll be there either.Arthuras wrote:Is it possible to split parties when black Kat is found to make more parties battle the same one?

Hey guys I have a book (of dark rituals, yes the one for the black kat cowl) and I wanted to do the boss later today, maybe before the event today. If anyone good (if you have experience with the boss even better) wanted to come and help, just tell me, cause im guessing the boss will be very hard. Also, if anyone has ever done the boss, what should i bring, and how hard is it?

The boss is hard indeed. It's a mega black kat, which have a shield most of the time. Generally, elemental guns will be the best since it teleports a lot (yup, mega black kat teleporter shielded! Sounds balanced to me.)
Aside from that, there are 2 black kats that respawn, and lots lots lots LOTS of normal zombies (not the curse ones).
So you definitely want shadow armor and elemental weapons, if possible a gun and a sword (swords still do a lot more damage if you happen to be close when the shield drop).
It is long too. You can't just zerg it, expect to die a good number of times (at least if your party isn't experienced).

I'm sorry, but me, serious simon and two others who's name I forget did it even though we had a half noob party. It wasn't hard we just had to rev once or twice.so you should be able to do it without much problem

Yea, it's not hard. You just have to drop the sticks and use guns. Then realize that he can teleport. Then put up with the stupid orbs, but with defense they're nothing but flinch.
They're on to us.
Sadly, OOO nerf'd the book to go to someone random in the party, so be careful when it drops. Happy hunting : x

I sure can. Take the AP and polaris, you need to more around too much for Blitz to be useful.Turtle-Ninja wrote:Ok so its not too hard? Sadly though, I dont have many guns, only an argent peacemaker, blitz needle, and polaris. So would you guys like to come and help me, Alp and Arden? (Please )
